The Gentleman's Lounge

New York City, NY

The Challenge

A complete overhaul of a historic 1920s space. The goal was to maintain the vintage, masculine aesthetic while outfitting the shop with the absolute peak of modern barbering technology and ergonomics. In transforming this space, the primary obstacle was navigating the strict building codes associated with historical preservation while seamlessly integrating heavy-duty plumbing and electrical systems required by modern salons.

The Solution

Working closely with the architectural team, we engineered custom free-standing stations that minimized wall impact. Our styling chairs were finished in a vintage tan leather specifically color-matched to the original 1920s woodwork found during demolition.

  • 6 Custom 'Don' Heavy-Duty Barber Chairs in Vintage Tan Leather
  • Bespoke solid oak and marble styling stations
  • Hidden integrated vacuum systems in each station
  • Restored tin ceiling with targeted ambient LED lighting
